Excuse Me, Your Book Review Is Waiting!
By Giovani Saintiny
Lynn Grabhorn's book EXCUSE ME, YOUR LIFE IS WAITING: The Astonishing Power Of Feelings is an admitted reinterpretation of Jerry and Esther Hicks' transmission of the teachings of Abraham. Specifically, it's about the Law Of Attraction and how it can be used to attract what you want into your life. What Grabhorn brings to these teachings is a lot of personality! Not that Abraham lacks personality! It's just that this is a different take on these powerful teachings and I, for one, needed to look at this from several different angles before my head could begin to wrap itself around the information. The basic premise of Law Of Attraction is that whatever you dwell on, you attract. Even if you dwell on how much you DON'T want it in your life! It took a bit for me to come to terms with that, though it's hard to convincingly argue to the contrary. However, bringing that to practical use in one's life and carrying the concept into one's emotional reality is where the rubber meets the road. What I found most useful was Grabhorn's 30 Day Plan to turn one's attitude around. Grabhorn's got a wonderful sense of humor: she HATES 30 Day Plans, but what could she do? Her plan basically comes down to finding one thing to appreciate about yourself every day for thirty days. Every time you slip into beating yourself up for not being perfect, you use that as a trigger to appreciate yourself as per plan. And, you should practice that appreciation during the good times, too. The trick is that you're not just saying "I appreciate my cooking skills." You're feeeeeling it. You're getting jazzed-up! She explains it pretty well, actually! And, when you start doing it, there's no question you can tell your body's releasing endorphins! (You know, the stuff natural highs are made on . . . ) This book, by the way, is how I first learned of Jerry and Esther Hicks, and I feel it's a great introduction into Law Of Attraction. |
