In A Hole? Stop Digging!
By Giovani Saintiny
You can't solve a problem from the level on which it confounds you. In other words, if you were lost in a maze, the easiest way to escape would be to be able to see the maze from a perspective high above. If, somehow, you could do that, the way out would be relatively easy to spot. (Of course, if you could fly that way you'd just fly out of the maze, altogether--which definitely figures into this metaphore.) This is one reason why applying the Law Of Attraction to success in life calls for a lot of NOT doing. The entities collectively known as Abraham (who send packets of thought to Esther Hicks, which she translates for our benefit) warn that making mighty effort while feeling frustrated at life is a trap. From that state of mind, all that's likely to happen is further muddling of the situation. From that state of mind, it's more helpful to cheer yourself up or rise to a higher level of consciousness, before attempting to solve your problem in any way. Even if all you do is make yourself feel a little better, you'll be in a better condition to make things better instead of worse. When I think back to times when I tried arguing my way out of an impasse, I can see what Abraham-Hicks were getting at. All I was doing was burrying myself deeper into the quicksand! Hahaha! It's something to think about! |
